Getting prepared

So I ordered euros from my bank and received them already, so I have my little stash of cash for Italy.

I got the email that the scholarship money will be deposited. (Yay!)

I think I bought everything that I will possibly need to bring with me and I have worked up a rough budget for all the transportation, food and hotel costs so I know how much I will have to spend there.

And today I voted! This is an important thing to remember guys. Election day for the primaries is going to be while we are gone and early voting ends tomorrow so make sure that you vote before you leave!

Now I just have to do laundry and pack ... and print copies of my brochures.

  2. I am taking 200 euros cash but I also will have access to more through the ATM and will have a credit card.

The suggested food budget was $45/day, I budgeted $50 just in case.

Transport will mostly be taken care of when we get those bus/metro passes and that is about 32 euro. Plus a little extra just in case I get a taxi, rent a bike or anything.

I figured I will want to log on to internet everyday to contact family and friends and update blog, plus look up info. If I had to pay at an internet cafe every time that would be 4 euro a day. (That may be more than I need but I always over-budget. Better safe than sorry.)

Then of course some extra ... some bathrooms you have to pay to use in Rome, and you never know when you might not be near a free one.

That adds up to somewhere around 850 euro.

I will also be taking the trip to Pompeii and a day trip to Assisi (I hope) so another 150 or so. So maybe 1000 for all of that. Although some of it is going on the credit card.

Spending ... I am not sure exactly. Not a whole lot for souvenirs but at least some.

I been saving like a mad woman and I had some help from some wonderful friends and family too.
