Assisi
I think that on one of the class days I remember Dr. Weber recommending a visit to Assisi. Today, my mom mentioned that one of her friend's daughters went on a trip to Italy and she thought that Assisi was the most beautiful place she visited. So I started wondering about what it would cost to take a day trip there on one of the free days. After all, I don't have a ton of money to spend on extra stuff but I want to see everything that I can as well. I checked out the Trenitalia site and the cost of tickets to Assisi is super cheap. Some thing like 11 euro one way, when you book at least a day in advance. So for less than 30 euro ... that is something I might be into. Here are some pictures I found. Anybody think they might be down to go with me?

Hi Jamie!.. wow Assisi is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThis place is beautiful, I'll join you! :) We'll need to figure out which day. Is it far from Rome?
ReplyDeleteCool! It's not too far. By the map it is maybe a little bit more than half the distance of Rome to Florence (although the trains between Rome and Assisi are regional not express so they are not as fast.) Trenitalia's website lists the trip as about 2 hours each way. We have free days on June 3, 10 & 11. I was thinking maybe the 10th since that would allow for the last full day to be spent just wandering around Rome, but I would be down for going a different day if others wanted to go with us.
ReplyDeleteI actually posted the pictures on Facebook and told my friends that I would like to go if I had the money, so if anyone wanted to donate $35 to cover the cost of the day trip then I would send them photos I take there. Since it isn't a huge amount I didn't feel too bad about asking someone to donate for it. One of my friends said she would cover it for me. Awesome!
